Mobile Mesonet Rack

Fall 2025

After substantial testing and validation of the FT Technologies sonic anemometer mounted on SCOUT1, it is time to build out the entire mesonet rack. Full measurement capabilities will include T, P, RH, wind, solar radiation, and PM2.5. The rack design will be transferrable platform to platform so it can be tested on SCOUT1 and once operational, it can be transferred to FISTER1 for permanent deployment.

Twister Fister HQ Development

May 2025

Starting in May 2025, the Fisters will be working to establish a functional headquarters for vehicle storage and maintenance as well as sensor development. This project is expected to extend well into 2026 with the first official operation season being Spring 2026. Multiple deployments are expected during the 2025 season as the team develops its standard operating procedures for chase days and trips.
